Have you always wanted to challenge yourself to write a novel in one month? November is National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo), and the goal of the challenge is to write a 50,000 word novel in one month's time. There are incentives and lots of free resources from the official NaNoWriMo website. But every time I've tried to complete the challenge, I find myself unsure of where to start.
Here's a list of some writing prompts from Imagine Forest that might be useful if you're getting stuck on what to write about. Most of these prompt lists have a useful randomizer feature near the top of the post, too. While these prompts are geared towards inspiring kids to write, many of the prompts have surprising depth to them that are sure to help authors of any age. I hope they help you reach your goals. Good luck! |
