Black voices matter! One way to show your support for our Black community is to read books by Black authors.
Below are some selections from a book list (that I curated from our YA collection) called Black Voices Matter (YA). The list contains a mix of fantasy, realistic fiction, anthologies, nonfiction, and more, but the connection between them all is that they all are written by Black authors. I'm hoping to add to the list as new books come in. There were over 40 items on the full list when this was posted, but here, I've pulled out a dozen to give you an idea of what's available. 1) Black Enough (by I. Zoboi, editor) 2) Black Girl Unlimited (by E. Brown) 3) A Blade So Black (#1) (by L. McKinney) 4) Children of Blood and Bone (Legacy of Orisha #1) (by T. Adeyemi) Playaway ⓔbook ⓔaudio 5) A Few Red Drops: The Chicago Race Riots (by C. Hartfield) ⓔbook ⓔaudio 6) I Am Alfonso Jones (by T. Medina) 7) I'm Not Dying with You Tonight (by K. Jones) 8) Saving Savannah (by T. Bolden) 9) Say Her Name (by Z. Elliott, editor) 10) A Song Below Water (by B. Morrow) 11) Tiffany Sly Lives Here Now (by D. Davis) ⓔbook ⓔaudio 12) We are Not Yet Equal (by C. Anderson) Is there a title that you think should be added to the full list? Comment below, and I'll add it.
